Motivation¶
Age verification is often framed as a binary choice: strong protection versus privacy. But real-world designs involve structured tradeoffs across multiple dimensions.
Different approaches distribute costs, risks, and benefits differently across individuals, platforms, and institutions.
This project provides an inspectable framework for exploring tradeoffs.
By making assumptions explicit and configurable, it enables comparison of alternative designs across dimensions such as minor protection, privacy exposure, surveillance risk, and implementation complexity.
The goal is to support informed reasoning regarding different policy and design choices.
